Jimmy Connors was the first great tennis star of the modern era. To this day his career statistics looms above all other tennis players: Eight Grand Slam singles titles, two Grand Slam doubles titles, held the top ranking 160 consecutive weeks and no male player has more wins than him. As a testament to his long career, Connors is also the only person to win the US Open championship on grass, clay, and hard courts. These white and red Converse Jimmy Connors model sneakers were used by him at the US Open during the late 1980’s. They show heavy match use with various scuffs and wear marks throughout. Connors has signed the outside side panel of both sneakers in blue marker. The signatures have faded a bit over the years and there is some bleeding of the ink into the leather is visible. Accompanied by a signed and dated letter from Jimmy Connors stating that these sneakers were used by him at the US Open in the late 1980’s and which he signed and gifted it to his coach, Doug Henderson. Autographs pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
