Running back Pete Johnson enjoyed a productive eight-year National Football League career, with the 1981 season being his best. Johnson rushed for a career-high 1,077 yards and 12 touchdowns that season, while also recording a career-best 46 receptions (and four receiving TDs). For Johnson personally, this resulted in his lone Pro Bowl. But for his team, the Cincinnati Bengals, his presence also led to great things, as the team won the AFC Championship before falling to the San Francisco 49ers, 26-21, in a very memorable Super Bowl XVI. Fellow Pro Bowl players QB Ken Anderson (3,754 passing yards, 29 TDs) and WR Cris Collinsworth (1,009 receiving yards, 8 TDs) helped pace the offensive attack.

Presented here is Johnson’s 1981 AFC Champions Jostens 10K ring. The ring’s face features a dazzling 25 point diamond set against a square black onyx stone. “CINCINNATI BENGALS 1981 AFC CHAMPIONS” is displayed along the bezel setting in relief work. Appearing on the left side of the band is Johnson’s name, position (RB) and number (46), along with an image of the Bengals helmet. The other shank features the Vince Lombardi trophy under “SUPER BOWL XVI”. Inside of the band is marked 10K JOSTENS. This ring is approximately a size 12 with the weight being an approximate 31 grams.
