Hall of Fame linebacker Mike Singletary wore this red Japan Bowl jersey during the 1981 iteration of the game. The Japan Bowl was a collegiate All-Star game played from 1976 to 1993. Singletary had just wrapped up a legendary college career with the Baylor Bears, and was just a few months away from being selected with the 38th overall pick of the 1981 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. “Samurai Mike” led his West team to a 25-13 victory over the East at Yokohama Stadium in the 1981 Japan Bowl. Singletary is widely regarded as one of the greatest linebackers in NFL history thanks to his unparalleled competitive drive and football IQ. In 1995, Singletary was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame, with his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction coming shortly after in 1998.

This red mesh jersey has “JAPAN BOWL” screen printed across the chest in white letters. Singletary’s number “63” is screen printed on the chest and back of the jersey in white and blue. “SINGLETARY” is screen printed across the back shoulders in white over a matching red nameplate. Japan Bowl and Champion logos are screen printed on each sleeve in white. The sleeves feature a screen printed white and blue design with seven blue stars. A Champion logo patch is sewn on each sleeve. Singletary has signed the “6” digit on the back of the jersey in blue marker, inscribing “CHOF 95” next to his signature. This jersey comes with a LOA from Singletary.
