Though his career was surrounded by speculation that he “doctored” his pitches, Gaylord Perry’s longevity put him in an elite class of pitchers. This Official American League (MacPhail) ball was used during the righty’s 300th career victory, a 7-3 Mariners win over the New York Yankees, which made him just the 15th pitcher to hit the plateau to that point.
