Michael Jordan began his Hall of Fame career playing for vaunted college basketball coach Dean Smith's North Carolina Tar Heels. Still, it was during Jordan's only championship season where he would show signs of the greatness to come. This is a full ticket from the final game of the 1982 NCAA Basketball Tournament. A thrilling contest, featuring Michael Jordan and James Worthy’s North Carolina squad matching up against Patrick Ewing and the Georgetown Hoyas at the Louisiana Superdome on March 29th, 1982. It was the 19-year-old Jordan, not yet a superstar, who hit the game winning shot, rising from the left wing to finalize the score at 63-62 in favor of the Tar Heels. This is widely considered Jordan’s launching point, with Jordan calling the shot the turning point of his career. The full ticket from Jordan’s transformative event that put him on the path to becoming the greatest player in basketball history is the yellow variation and features the Superdome image, with the date, time, seating location all printed on the front of the ticket. The NCAA circular logo appears on the upper left corner of the ticket. The price to see Jordan sink his career-making game-winning shot? $8.00. The full ticket from the 1982 NCAA Finals between the Georgetown Hoyas and North Carolina Tar Heels where Jordan sealed the championship with a clutch shot comes encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (21143254) and is graded VG-3.
