Only four men in the history of the game can claim to have 3,000 career hits, 300 career homers and a .300 or above career average. A 13 time All-Star and Hall of Famer, Brett will forever be remembered for his explosive reaction to an umpires decision to disallow a home run due to the amount of pine tar on his bat. This great Louisville Slugger was used by Brett during the season made famous by "The Pine Tar Incident". Brett's Louisville Slugger P89 bat shows heavy use and is un-cracked. Many ball marks with stitch imprints cover the barrel along with blue ink transfers. Blue bat rack paint streaks can be seen and a moderate coat of pine tar coats the handle. Brett's initials and number "GB5" are hand written on the knob in black marker. Brett has signed the bat's barrel in blue marker making this a truly desirable gamer. Letter of Authenticity 1B08960 from PSA/DNA who has graded this bat a GU 9.
