Houston Oilers Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon wore this blue Oilers home jersey circa 1984-1989. Moon, who joined the Oilers after spending the first several years of his career in the CFL, threw for 3,338 yards in his first NFL season. Despite Moon’s gaudy numbers, Houston did not make the playoffs until Moon’s fourth season with the team. The former Washington Huskies star threw for 2,806 yards and a then-career high 21 touchdown passes in 1987 as the Oilers advanced to the Divisional Playoff round in their first winning season since 1980. Moon would go on to play 10 seasons in Houston before joining the Minnesota Vikings in 1994. Moon retired in 2000, and in 2006 became the first African-American quarterback inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

This jersey has Moon’s number “1” heat pressed on the chest, back, and shoulders in white and red digits. Two white and red stripes are heat pressed on each sleeve. Please note that the white portions of the heat pressed digits and stripes has begun to crackle and fade slightly due to wear and age. “MOON” is sewn across the back shoulders in white and red tackle twill over a matching blue nameplate. A Russell Athletic size “42” tag is sewn on the back inside collar. Moon has signed the back-left shoulder of this jersey in black marker, inscribing “HOF 06” and “Game Used” in addition to his signature. This jersey comes with a LOA from MEARS, who have assigned it a near-perfect grade of A9.5, as well as a LOA from PSA/DNA for Moon’s signature.
