If seagulls could read in 1983, they no doubt would have stayed far clear of a ballpark when Dave Winfield was in town. That summer Winny was on his way to a .283 finish with 32 home runs when he (in)famously nailed a gull during his pregame warmups before a game in Toronto. Used during that 1983 season, Winfield’s Louisville Slugger W273 model bat is un-cracked and displays outstanding use. There are many ball marks and abrasions on the barrel and the handle has been taped to enhance the grip. The Yankees star has signed the back barrel in silver marker with “HOF 2001.” This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B11607) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9 and a LOA from JSA for the signature.
