After spending the first nine full seasons of his career with the Chicago Cubs, pitcher Rick Reuschel was traded to the New York Yankees in 1981 and helped them to a World Series appearance. After a torn rotator cuff that cost him the entire 1982 season, Reuschel pitched for the Yankees during the 1983 spring training. Reuschel wore this Wilson size 48 button-down home Yankees pinstripe jersey during spring training in 1983. This jersey features the iconic interlocking “NY” logo sewn on in navy blue tackle twill on the upper left chest. The Wilson tag is sewn on the base of the front left tail. An off-white inner lining is sewn around the back collar and down both sides of the button-down front. A white patch is sewn on the inner lining on the back collar that reads “Reuschel 83 1”. The back of the jersey has Reuschel’s number “36” sewn in in navy blue tackle twill. This jersey displays heavy game use and come with a LOA from Mears, who have graded this jersey a perfect A10.
