By the summers this bat was used, Don Mattingly had achieved Yankee legend status. Based upon factory records and player specifications, Mattingly used this bat during the 1984 season, the year he hit .343 and won his only batting title. The Louisville Slugger M110 shows light use and is uncracked. Blue bat rack paint streaks can be seen on the barrel along with a few ball marks. The handle has been scored to enhance the grip and a moderate coat of pine tar is also present. Mattingly's number "23" is handwritten on the knob end in black marker. That Donnie Baseball has signed the barrel in blue marker, coupled with the date this bat was used combine making this a very desirable piece of Yankees history. PSA/DNA stickers V73137 and 1B07439 are affixed to the barrel end. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat GU 7.
