This unique item contains lithographs of 31 Olympic sports painted by renowned Swiss artist Hans Erni. The portfolio was given by the International Olympic Committee to members of national Olympic committees, commemorating the IOC’s honorary guesting of the Swiss National Fair in Lausanne, Switzerland in the fall of 1983. Each 19” x 13” color print is contained in a manila envelope, titled in French, German and English below the Olympic Rings. Erni’s impressionistic figures in action are captured in a montage of colors. A Holiday Card from Erni’s “Vision Olympiqué” has been signed by Samaranch and included. A poster for the IOC’s 1986 meeting in Lausanne is also included and bears an inscription in French, drawing of a dove, and signature from Samaranch, dated Oct. 12, 1986.
