There was no better big game quarterback in the 1980s than Joe Montana. During that decade he not only led the 49ers to four Super Bowl Championships but did not throw a single interception in any of the four games. From 1985 to 1987, the seasons Montana wore this 49ers jersey, Joe led the league in several categories, the most impressive being a QBR of 102.1 and his 31 touchdowns in 1987, a career-high for him.
The classic 49ers home jersey has Montana’s famed number “16” on both the chest and sleeves in white applique. Three rings encircle each arm opening and a Russell size 44 label is sewn in the left front tail along with a “100% NYLON” hand tag. The back has “MONTANA” in white on a red nameplate above his number “16” in white. The jersey shows moderate game use with some light scuffing, stresses and abrasions along with cracking to the white applique sleeve stripes. The Hall of Famer has signed the “1” in blue marker, completing this vintage Montana gamer. This jersey comes with a LOA from MEARS (314262) for the game use and has been graded a perfect A10 and a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A74567) for the signature.
