Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Thomas “Hitman” Hearns contested one of the most exciting fights in boxing history in 1985. This bout, billed as “The War”, saw the champion Hagler defend his middleweight championship against the younger boxer from Detroit. Although this fight only went three rounds, it was an electric and ferocious battle, with Hagler knocking Hearns out near the end of the third round.

This poster features illustrations of each fighter by the renowned sports artist LeRoy Neiman. Neiman inscribed the poster to legendary trainer Angelo Dundee, writing, “To Helen and Angelo / Love / LeRoy Neiman”. Neiman signed the poster in black marker. This gorgeous piece of boxing history measures 31 x 25 inches. It is in good condition save for a few small tears that do not impact the artwork or signature. This piece, which comes from the Angelo Dundee Collection, comes with a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B56678).
