The New York Yankees have long been known for their power, as evident by their nickname the Bronx Bombers. However, through the years, the Yankees have had their share of fleet-footed stars as well. No one was more adept at stealing bases than Major League’s all-time leader Rickey Henderson, who New York acquired from Oakland in December of 1984 in a multi-player trade.

This offered Louisville Slugger S2 model bat was the first model ordered by Henderson as a Yankee and used by all-time base steals leader in the 1985 season that helped him get on base and set the Yankees single-season stolen base record. This bat displays outstanding game use and has a crack on the handle. There are ball marks, blue ink transfers, cleat imprints and checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact present on the barrel. Henderson’s number “24” is handwritten in black marker on the knob and Henderson has signed his name in gold marker on the barrel in gold marker. Please note that Henderson signed his name on the barrel with the checking, thus there are lines through his signature. A great gamer from one of Henderson’s record-setting seasons and this comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B19111) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9.5, plus a LOA from JSA for the signature.
