With a zest for the game personified by his traditional Opening Day back flip, Ozzie Smith was not only the most respected shortstop of the 1980's, but one of the most popular. His flawless fielding and timely hitting helped spark the St. Louis Cardinals to a World Championship in 1982 and National League crowns in 1985 and 1987. This bat dates from Ozzie's later career during which he won a Silver Slugger award, made the NL All-Star team each summer and took home the Golden Glove Award each fall. Sometime in the 1990’s, Ozzie signed this bat and gifted it to then Phillies ace Curt Schilling. A signed LOA accompanies the bat. The Cooper Pro Model 100 C235 bat is un-cracked and has been made game-ready. Ozzie’s number “1” is hand lettered on the knob and the Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in black marker adding “Good Luck, Best Wishes”. The bat comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (1B08414) for the game use and a signed Curt Schilling LOA for the signature and provenance.
