Roger Clemens was simply the best pitcher in the American League and earned his first Cy Young Award. Clemens got off to a blistering start to the 1986 season, winning 14 consecutive games before suffering his first defeat. Along the way, Clemens recorded the first 20-strikeout game in MLB history when he fanned 20 Seattle Mariners in an April start at Fenway Park. Offered here the official Boston Red Sox lineup carbon copy card from the June 27, 1986 game where Clemens earned his 14th win in a row. This card is blue with “1986 OFFICIAL BATTING ORDER (VISITING CLUB) printed on the top. There are two columns “ORIGINAL” and “CHANGE” with “6/27/86” copied in black on the top right. The Red Sox lineup is copied in black and reads “Barrett 4 Boggs 5 Buckner 3 Rice 7 Baylor D.H. Evans 9 Armas 8 Gedman 2 Romero 6 Clemens 1”. “McNamara” is handwritten next to the “Visiting Manager’s Copy”.
