Offered are the game-used baseball jersey and cap of former Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Orestes Destrade. The jersey is pullover style, gray with black and yellow V-neck collar and black and yellow sleeve cuffs. The jersey has individual letter patches sewn on with “PIRATES” across the front in black letters with yellow borders, as well as the number “2” below the word. The back of the jersey has a gray patch sewn on, with each individual letter sewn onto the patch with the letters reading “DESTRADE”. There is a larger number “2” sewn on below the name. Both the name and the number are in black with yellow borders. The left sleeve has a sewn-in patch with the “PIRATES” logo in yellow letters outlined in black, a pirate image with a white cross-bones on black hat, mustache, gold earring and red bandana with black shirt on a yellow diamond with white baselines. The right sleeve has black screen-printed letters “RSC” with a yellow “Rawlings” logo on the top black stripe. The initials are for late Pittsburgh Mayor Richard S. Caliguiri, who was the city’s mayor from 1977 until his death on May 6, 1988.

     The cap is black with the yellow “P” of the Pirates, and no other patches or markings on the outside of the cap, which is in good condition with no stains or marks. Inside the cap, the sweatband has some yellow discoloration, while the tags for “Authentic Diamond Collection Major League Baseball” and the size “7 ¼” are intact, as is the patch on the sweatband for New Era. The gray underside of the bill of the cap has the number “2” written in blue marker with some smudging at the top of the number, while the player has signed the cap in black marker “1988 Pirates Orestes Destrade 2” across the middle portion of the bill. Destrade has signed the front of this jersey in blue marker below the team name, “Orestes Destrade 2,” while signing on the back of the jersey in black marker “GAME USED 1988 Orestes Destrade 39”. Destrade only played the one season for the Pirates in a four-year MLB career that started with the Yankees in 1998 and ended with the Marlins in 1994. These items come with a LOA from Destrade.
