Hall of Fame third baseman Mike Schmidt played his final game on May 28, 1989 after abruptly retiring. Schmidt recording his final RBI during the May 23, 1989 game between the Phillies and the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. Offered here is the blue official lineup card from the Philadelphia Phillies. This carbon copy was filled out by the Phillies for the home Dodgers and this card has ON ROAD – OFFICIAL BATTING ORDER CLUB PHILADELPHIA” printed in black on the top. “5/23” is copied in black on the date line on the upper right. The card has three columns “ORIGINAL”, “CHANGE” and “ALSO ELIGIBLE” with the lineup copied in black that reads “Samuel 8 Thon 6 James 7 Schmidt 5 Jordan 3 Hayes 9 Lake 2 Jeltz 4 Howell 1”. Manager Nick Leyva’s copied signed name in pencil next to the “HOME MANAGER’S COPY”. This cared has vertical crease down the center.
