This cap was worn by Roger Clemens during his 1989 Red Sox season when he went 17-11 with a 3.13 ERA. The wool New Era hat is traced to the 1989 season based upon the New Era tag, and exhibits nice evidence of overall use with light staining, sweat marks and inside wear. The inner brim has his number "21" in black marker. His bold, blue sharpie inscribed "Best Always Roger Clemens 'Rocket'" signature appears under the brim. This hat was given directly by Clemens to our consignor, who was a member of the New York Yankees organization, and a close friend of Rocket's.
