The Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was presented with these two awards by the United States Sports Academy in 1989. Abdul-Jabbar, the all-time leading scorer in NBA history, was conferred the “Order of the Eagle Exemplar” by the USSA through these two awards. The first award is a plaque, and it measures 16.25 x 13.25 inches. The second award in this lot is a gold medal measuring 3 inches in diameter. One side features the USSA crest etched in high relief, while the other side is etched with “Kareem Abdul Jabbar / 1989 / Distinguished Service / Basketball”. This gold medal comes with a red, white, and blue ribbon however this ribbon is not currently attached to the medal. This lot comes with a LOA signed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
