The legendary broadcaster Dick Enberg was presented with this President’s Distinguished Service Medal from Humboldt State University in 1990. Enberg’s long career as a broadcaster included many years spent in sunny California, including stints with the UCLA Bruins basketball team and the San Diego Padres. This offered medal from the Northern California institution measures two inches in diameter and is attached to a green ribbon. Etched in high relief around the border is “Humboldt State University” and the school’s motto of “ΦΩΣ ΑΛΗΘΕΙΑ”, the Greek spelling of “Light Truth”. An “H”, “1913”, and a leaf are etched in high relief in the center. The reverse side is etched with “President’s Distinguished Service Medal Awarded to Dick Enberg April 24, 1990”. This medal comes in a 6 x 6-inch case and is accompanied by a LOA from the Enberg family.
