Beginning in 1982, Mattingly spent all 14 years of his career as a Yankee, bridging the gap between two pinstriped dynasties. The very model of consistency, The Hit Man hit a steady .389 during the 1991-1993 seasons, from which this bat dates. Additionally, in 1991 Donny Baseball became the team’s captain, preparing him for his next career as major league manager. Mattingly’s uncracked Worth WC115 bat shows excellent game use. Ball marks and stitch impressions can be seen on the barrel and cleat imprints are found throughout. An impression from a weighted donut is also present. Pine tar coats the handle. Factory specs (“D”, “3” and “WC115”) are stamped into the knob end. The captain has signed the barrel in silver ink “My Best Wishes, Don Mattingly” between the Worth logo and his endorsement. PSA/DNA stickers 1B05871 and U69440 are affixed to the barrel end. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a GU 8.
