Former second baseman Lou Whitaker played his entire career with the Detroit Tigers and formed a great double-play partnership with fellow longtime teammate and Hall of Famer Alan Trammell. Whitaker was a key member of the 1984 World Champion Tigers’ team and this offered Louisville Slugger K48 model bat was used by Whitaker to close out his prolific career in Detroit. This bat dates to the 1991-1995 seasons and displays moderate game use with a crack on the handle that has been repaired. There are ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and slight checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact present on the barrel. Whitaker’s number “1” and the Tigers’ weight code “+” are handwritten in silver marker on the knob and top barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B26469) for the game use and has been given a high grade of GU 8.5.
