Hall of Famer and baseball Iron Man Cal Ripken, Jr. had a career season in 1991 where he won his second American League MVP as he had career-highs in home runs with 34 and RBI with 114, all while hitting a lofty .323. Ripken also made his ninth straight All-Star Game where won the game’s MVP, going 2-for-3 with a home run and 3 RBI as helped the AL down the NL 4-2 at SkyDome in Toronto. As a result of Ripken winning the game’s MVP and the AL MVP, he was presented with this wood and crystal award by Adidas. This award has the Adidas logo in crystal that is mounted on a 7 x 3 x 1 ½-inch wood base. The plate on this 10-inch high trophy reads “CAL RIPKEN Jr. ALL STAR GAME M.V.P. AMERICAN LEAGUE M.V.P. 1991”. Please note that the plate is slightly loose on the left side. This comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. and a signed LOA from Cal will accompany this item.
