From his rookie year in 1990, Frank Thomas set about destroying White Sox franchise records. In 1993 he smashed 41 home runs to set a new club record and was the unanimous winner of the American League’s MVP Award that summer. In 1994, he had 38 homers and was on pace to smash the record again when the player’s strike ended the season at 113 games. The White Sox slugger was also in line to take the coveted Triple Crown as he was leading the league in average and RBI’s as well. During the 1992-95 seasons when he used this bat, no man was as feared at the plate than The Big Hurt.
This two-tone Worth WC115 model bat shows excellent game use and is un-cracked. A few ball marks and stitch impressions can be seen on the barrel along with blue ink transfers. A light coat of pine tar is on the lower handle and The Big Hurt’s number “35” is handwritten on the knob in black marker. His initials “FT”, length “4 ½” and model “WC115” are stamped into the knob. A perfect gamer from Frank Thomas’ most productive seasons on the South Side. This comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B16850) who have graded this bat a near-perfect GU 9.5.
