For the 10th consecutive year, Hall of Famer Cal Ripken represented the Baltimore Orioles for the American League in the 1992 All-Star Game held at Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego on July 14th. Ripken was voted in as a starter and batted sixth for the American League squad that won 13-6. Ripken went 1-for-3 in the game with an RBI. Presented here is the very jersey worn by Ripken during the 1992 All-Star Game that comes directly from his personal collection. This road gray Orioles’ button-down jersey was made by Russell Athletic and is a size 48. “Orioles” and a paraph, along with Ripken’s number “8”, are sewn on the front in black and orange tackle twill. The Russell Athletic size 48 tag with a “100% POLYESTER” flag, along with a white tag that has “92-1” are sewn on the front left tail. The back of this jersey has “RIPKEN” sewn on in black and orange tackle twill on a matching gray nameplate and the number “8” sewn on in the same black and orange tackle twill below. The sleeves are capped with orange/black/orange stripes with the left sleeve having the “1992 ALL-STAR GAME” logo patch and the right sleeve having the Russell Athletic logo embroidered in black. Ripken has labeled the clear plastic bag this jersey was stored in blue marker that reads “1992 Game Jersey All Star Game San Diego”. This jersey comes with a LOA from Cal Ripken, Jr.
