The 1992 USA Olympic Basketball team may be one of the most dominating teams ever assembled in the history of sports. After a disappointing Bronze Medal in the 1988 Seoul Olympics, the US was determined to get back to the top of world basketball. For the 1992 Barcelona Games, it marked the first time that NBA players would be allowed to represent their respective countries. Seizing the opportunity, USA Basketball created what many consider, the greatest team ever assembled. This offered Spalding NBA Los Angeles Lakers stamped basketball has 13 signatures from that historic team. On a panel by himself, its apropos that Michael Jordan signed his name as he is considered the greatest basketball player ever. Jordan, along with the rest of the signatures, signed his name in black marker and added the inscription “Best Wishes”. Other signatures include Hall of Famers Magic Johnson, Chuck Daly, Larry Bird, John Stockton, Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, Karl Malone, David Robinson, Chris Mullen and Patrick Ewing - and includes the signature of Christian Laettner.
