Under coach Scotty Bowman, the defending-champion Pittsburgh Penguins had somewhat of a down regular season in 1991-92, finishing in third place in the Patrick Division. That all changed once the playoffs rolled around, as the Penguins advanced to the Conference Finals, where they swept the Boston Bruins to reach the Stanley Cup Finals. Another sweep followed, as the Penguins skated past the Chicago Blackhawks, four games to none, to win their second straight title. Mario Lemieux recorded 131 points (in only 64 games played) during the regular season, while Kevin Stevens scored 54 goals.
Presented here is a 10K gold 1992 Pittsburgh Penguins Stanley Cup champions Mario Lemieux salesman sample ring. The face features a large black stone, on which are set two round CZs, signifying the back-to-back titles. Around the stone appear smaller CZs and surrounding the bezel setting reads “STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS 91-92” in relief. “LEMIEUX” and the number 66 appear on the left shank, which is centered by a Penguins team logo. The opposite shank displays images of two Stanley Cup trophies, with “BACK TO BACK” in banners. “PITTSBURGH” is seen above and “Penguins” appears below. This band, marked 10K, is an approximate size 10 and weighs approximately 40.8 grams.
