The Davis Cup is the premier tournament team competition in men’s tennis. During the 1992 competition, the United States defeated Switzerland in the finals, which were held at the Tarrant County Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas. The United States had previously defeated Argentina, Czechoslovakia and Sweden to advance to the finals, while the Swiss were victorious over the Netherlands, France and Brazil. In the finals, the US’s Andre Agassi defeated Jakob Hlasek (6-1, 6-2, 6-2), Swiss Marc Rosset defeated Jim Courier (6-3, 6-7 (9-11), 3-6, 6-4, 6-4), the US’s doubles team of John McEnroe and Pete Sampras knocked off Hlasek and Rosset (6-7 (5-7), 6-7 (7-9), 7-5, 6-1, 6-2) and Courier clinched the victory for the United States with his (6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4) victory over Hlaske. The final match between Agassi and Rosset was not played. This was the US’s 30th Davis Cup title.

Offered here is a 14-karat gold 1992 Davis Cup Championship ring presented to Chairman Bo Driskill. This gold ring has “DAVIS CUP” on the top, “CHAMPIONS” below, with “19” on the left middle and “92” on the right middle, all in raised relief. A raised image of the Davis Cup trophy is in the center with four diamonds on the top. One shank has “DRISKILL” recessed with a logo below, while the opposite shank has etched “UNITED STATES VS”, and their opponents “ARG”, “TCH”, “SWE” and “SWI”. On the inside band is a “TIFFANY & CO.” and “585” engravings. This ring weighs approximately 20.51 grams, is roughly a size 8 and is in good overall condition. This comes with a velvet covered ring box.
