The 1993 Philadelphia Phillies were the surprise of baseball when they won the National League East Division and shocked the heavily-favored Atlanta Braves in the NLCS to reach the World Series. Led by manager Jim Fregosi, the gritty Phillies got major contributions from Lenny Dykstra, John Kruk, Dave Hollins and Curt Schilling. Offered here are five playoff lineup cards that were sourced to manager Jim Fregosi’s collection.

There are two lineup cards from Game 4 of the NLCS that was won by Philadelphia 2-1. The blue card is the carbon copy card given to the Braves. The top has “ON ROAD-OFFICIAL BATTING ORDER CLUB PHILADELPHIA” with “10/10/93” copied on the upper right. The Phillies lineup with the eligible reserves are copied. The second card from that game is a white card with red print that reads “THE PHILLIES LINEUP CARD” on top. The left column has “THE PHILLIES” and the right column has “OPPONENTS”. The lineups of both teams are written in pen with the “EXTRA” players and “PITCHERS” below. The date 10/10/93” is handwritten on the upper right.

The second set of cards is from Game 5 of the NLCS from October 11, 1993 won by the Phillies 4-3 in 10 innings. The blue card is the carbon copy card given to the Braves. The top has “ON ROAD-OFFICIAL BATTING ORDER CLUB PHILADELPHIA” with “10/11/93” copied on the upper right. The Phillies lineup with the eligible reserves are copied. The second card from that game is a white card with red print that reads “THE PHILLIES LINEUP CARD” on top. The left column has “THE PHILLIES” and the right column has “OPPONENTS”. The lineups of both teams are written in pen with the “EXTRA” players and “PITCHERS” below. The date 10/11/93” is handwritten on the upper right.

The final card is from the clinching Game 6, won by the Phillies at Veterans Stadium on October 13th 6-3. This cream-colored card has “OFFICIAL BATTING ORDER CLUB PHILADELPHIA” with “10/11/93” handwritten in pencil on the upper right. There are three columns “ORIGINAL”, “CHANGE” and “ALSO ELGIBLE”. The Phillies lineup is written in the “ORIGINAL” column with the reserves written in the “ALSO ELIGIBLE” column. Manager Jim Fregosi signed his name in pencil on the “MANAGER’S SIGNATURE” line.
