     As one of the top closers of his era, Lee Smith finished his career with 478 saves and was the all-time leader in that category when he retired in 1997. Playing his only season with the Baltimore Orioles in 1994, Smith recorded and American League high 33 saves, despite the last month and a half been cut short due to the players’ strike. At the age of 36, Smith still registered a solid 3.29 ERA and was awarded the 1994 American League Rolaids Relief Pitcher of the Year Award for his efforts.

     This 14K gold ring is a size 14 ¾ and is weighs approximately 23.1 grams was presented to Lee Smith for his 1994 season. Shaped like a diamond, the center has one large diamond, surrounded by four smaller diamonds on the corners. One shank has “AL” in raised relief with the American League logo etched below. The adjacent shank has etched “ROLAIDS RELIEF PITCHER”. The other side of the ring has “94” in raised relief on one shank, with “LEE SMITH” etched below. The adjacent shank has “Orioles” with a paraph etched. This ring is in good condtion and comes with a full LOA from Lee Smith, who in his LOA states “I, Lee Smith, hereby verify that this 1994 American League Rolaids Relief Pitcher Ring was presented to me and it is original…Free and clear of all Liens and Encumbrances.”
