Michael Jordan surprised the basketball and entire sports world when he announced his retirement prior to the start of the 1993-94 season after leading his Chicago Bulls to the first of their “3-Peat” championships. Citing his lack of desire to play basketball and the tragic murder of his father, Jordan embarked on a new career – baseball. In February of 1994, Jordan signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox and reported to spring training in Florida. Jordan was assigned to the AA Birmingham Barons, where he finished the season with a .202 average, three home runs and 51 RBI. This offered Louisville Slugger C271 model bat was used by Jordan in 1994. This all-black bat displays minimal use and comes with a LOA from MEARS (317342) for the game use and has been graded an A5.
