United States legend Michelle Akers wore this white United States Women’s National Team home jersey during the 1995 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Sweden. Akers, the Golden Boot winner at the inaugural FIFA Women’s World Cup in 1991, helped the United States reach the semifinals of the second World Cup, where they faced a strong Norway team in a rematch of the 1991 Finals. This time, it was Norway that grabbed the plaudits, sneaking past the United States with a 1-0 victory in Scandinavia. The United States won the third-place game against future World Cup Finals foe China, defeating the AFC nation 2-0 with goals coming from Tisha Venturini and Mia Hamm.

Akers is one of the United States greatest ever players, amassing 155 caps and 107 goals for the Stars and Stripes in an exemplary 15-year career. In 1991, Akers scored 39 goals for the USWNT, setting a record that still stands today. The former UCF All-American was named the FIFA Woman co-Player of the Century in 2000 after a playing career that included two World Cup titles and an Olympic gold medal.

This offered white home jersey has Akers’ number “10” applied to the chest and back in red and navy. A United States Women’s National Soccer team logo and a Nike logo are applied to the chest of the jersey. Two Nike size “L” tags are located on the back inside collar of this historic soccer jersey. A second Nike size “L” tag is sewn on the front left tail. Akers has signed the “0” digit on the back of this jersey in black marker, adding the inscriptions “USA” and “1995 Match Worn USA Jersey” to her signature. This jersey comes with a LOA signed by Michelle Akers herself. A portion of the proceeds shall benefit the Michelle Akers Horse Rescue & Outreach Inc.
