Hall of Fame center Shaquille O’Neal spent his first four years with the Orlando Magic, taking the Magic to the Finals in 1995. O’Neal grew frustrated with Magic management and signed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 1996 offseason. The Lakers also acquired high school phenom Kobe Bryant, thus forming the nucleus of a team that would win three consecutive championships in the early 2000s. The 1996-97 season was O’Neal’s first with the Lakers and he averaged 26.2 points and 12.5 rebounds. O’Neal’s first season saw the Lakers post a 56-26 record and make it all the way to the Western Conference Semifinals where they lost to the Utah Jazz in five games.
This presented size 22 high top Reebok sneaker was worn by O’Neal during his inaugural season with the Los Angeles Lakers. The white leather sneaker features the “REEBOK” logo on the upper outstep of the sneaker in purple plastic. The sneaker features a purple toecap and purple piping along the tongue of the sneaker that runs all the way to the heel. The tongue features a purple embroidered Shaq logo depicting O’Neal dunking. The purple rubber soles feature a “REEBOK” logo imprinted on the center. O’Neal signed the upper lateral outstep of the sneaker with a black marker. The sneaker shows moderate signs of game use with scuff marks occurring on the toecap. The signed and game used sneaker comes with a STICKER ONLY from PSA/DNA (AI24779) and an LOA from MEARS (317685) and are graded Authentic.
