The 1996 College World Series concluded with one of the most memorable home runs in college baseball history, as LSU Tigers second baseman Warren Morris hit a two-run, walk-off blast to win the championship game, 9-8, over Miami. LSU came storming out of the gate in 1996, beginning the season with 13 straight wins, en route to a record of 48-15 heading into the College World Series. There, they defeated Wichita State, 9-8, and twice beat Florida, before their matchup with Miami.

Offered here is the Jostens 10K 1996 LSU NCAA Baseball National Championship ring given to pitcher Brian Daugherty. The face of the ring features “LSU” lettering on a baseball design, surrounded by CZs. “FIGHTING TIGERS” appears above/below the baseball, with “1996 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS” around the perimeter. The left shank shows Daugherty’s name and number, along with “SEC CHAMPIONS”. On the other side of the band is a beautifully done logo for the NCAA’s 50th College World Series, with the words “A GOLDEN MOMENT” at the bottom. At the top are the words “ROSENBLATT STADIUM” – site of the game – and a listing of the competing teams, with final runs, hits and errors totals. JOSTENS 10K is marked inside the band. Size is approximately an 11 with the weight an approximate 47 grams. This comes with Jostens ring box and outside cover plus the owner's original purchase LOA.
