After a regular season that saw them finish with a mark of 7-3 (including an undefeated 5-0 at home) the 1996 Scottish Claymores advanced to the World Bowl, the championship game of the World League of American Football (later named NFL Europe). The Claymores defeated the Frankfurt Galaxy, 32-27, to win the league title.
