Ken Griffey Jr. was a hero to millions of fans in the 1990s and 2000s, retiring with easy first-ballot Hall of Fame numbers. As only one of nine members of the elusive 600 home run club, Griffey easily could have seen more dingers in his day if it wasn't for health issues following his tenure with the Mariners.

Offered here is a rare and desirable Louisville Slugger C271 model baseball bat, used by Ken Griffey Jr. to stroke his 51st home run of either 1997 or 1998. It bears the classic Griffey, Jr. handle-tape and was gifted to Mariners teammate and former 1984 Olympic Team member John Marzano, with the inscription "To Marzman, Good Luck, Ken Griffey Jr. 24, HR #51". While the exact year of this home run bat cannot be determined, 1997 was an MVP season for The Kid, and he was the American League leader in HR's, winning the Silver Slugger Award, in both the 1997 and 1998 season. Measuring 31 ½ inches long and weighing in at 29.8 ounces, this gamer shows outstanding use with many ball marks and stitch impressions throughout the barrel, including right on the barrel nameplate. Ball marks include blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs. Cleat marks are also visible on the right, left and back barrel. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA, who have graded this bat a perfect GU 10.
