Cal Ripken Jr. wore this black Baltimore Orioles cap during the 1997 MLB All-Star Game at Coors Field! Ripken, appearing in his 15th Midsummer Classic, started at third base and finished the game 1-2, collecting a fifth inning single off Kevin Brown before leaving the contest for a pinch runner. The Hall of Famer enjoyed an excellent 1997 campaign, hitting 17 homers, with 84 RBI, 30 doubles, and a .270 batting average in his age-36 campaign. Ripken was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007.

This cap is black, with an Orioles logo sewn on the front and a 1997 All-Star Game patch sewn on the left side of the cap. Handwritten in black marker on the underside of the brim is “8 / All Star Game / 97.” Tags sewn on the sweatband include a New Era tag, a Diamond Collection tag, and a size “7 ?” tag. This comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. with a signed LOA from Cal accompanying this game used hat.
