Minnesota Twins stalwart Torii Hunter wore this navy Twins alternate jersey during the 1997 MLB season. Hunter appeared in one game in 1997 after a mid-August callup from AA New Britain, making his debut as a pinch runner during a game against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards on August 22nd, 1997. Over the following 18 seasons, Hunter would develop into one of the American League’s best centerfielders, making five All-Star teams and winning nine Gold Glove awards for his spectacular defensive play. Hunter retired after the 2015 season with 353 homers, a .277 career average, and 2,452 hits.

This offered Twins button-down alternate road jersey has “MINNESOTA” sewn across the chest in white and red tackle twill. Hunter’s number “48” is sewn on the chest and back of this jersey in red and white tackle twill. “HUNTER” is sewn across the back shoulders in white and red tackle twill over a matching navy nameplate. A Twins logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve, while a Jackie Robinson 50th Anniversary logo and a white Russell Athletic logo are sewn on the right sleeve. A Russell Athletic size “46” tag is sewn on the front left tail. A “46-97” tag is sewn on the back inside collar. Hunter has signed the “4” digit on the back of the jersey in black marker. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema, who states that “Hunter only played in one game in 1997, so this jersey is more likely to be ‘bench worn’ than actually worn in game action.” Additionally, this jersey comes with a COA from Beckett Authentication Services for Hunter’s signature (G38029).
