In 1998, Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn reached the second World Series of his career after leading the San Diego Padres to 98 regular season victories and the National League West Division Title. Gwynn hit .321 in 1998, teaming up with 50 home run hitter Greg Vaughn to lead the Padres offense. The first item in this lot is a commemorative silver plate honoring the Padres 1998 season. The facsimile signatures of the Padres players are etched around the rim of the plate. Several players, including Vaughn, Kevin Brown, Hall of Famer Trevor Hoffman, and Sterling Hitchcock, have accomplishments etched next to their names. This item is a limited edition 49 of 150. Also included in this lot is a glass plaque honoring the Padres 1998 division title. A Padres logo is printed on this plaque, along with “The Padre Wives are the Best in the West!”. Minimal damage to the bottom two corners of this plaque is present. This lot comes with a LOA from Alicia Gwynn.
