In 1999 Tony Gwynn reached the monumental 3,000 hit mark. This milestone came after winning an incredible eight batting championships. His offensive output meant he could go anywhere at his price, but Gwynn chose to remain a Padre, endearing himself to the San Diego fans. Just as you expect from a guy who banged out over 3,000 hits, Gwynn’s 1999-2000 game used Louisville Slugger B267 model bat shows tremendous use and is un-cracked. Many ball marks with stitch impressions are found on the barrel along with blue ink transfers and black and red bat rack paint streaks. The handle has been taped in a spiral of rubberized tape to enhance the grip and a moderate coat of pine tar applied. The model number “B267”, length and weight “33-30.5) and Gwynn’s number “19” are written on the knob and the top barrel has his number and model written in black marker. The Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in black marker, completing this impressive Gwynn gamer. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13291) for the game use and graded a GU 9. There is also a LOA from JSA (Z83397) for the signature.
