Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Tony Gwynn was the National League’s hit king. 1999 saw Mr. Padre knocking on the door of the 3,000 Hit Club. This Louisville Slugger model B267 bat was used by Gwynn to stroke hit number 2,934. The bat displays excellent use with a repaired handle crack. Several ball marks and stitch impressions are on the barrel, along with white leather ball scuffs and black ink transfers. Black and blue bat rack paint streaks can be seen and the handle has been taped in a spiral pattern to enhance the grip. A light coat of pine tar is on the handle and Gwynn’s number “19” is on the knob and barrel ends. The model number “B267”, length “33” and weight “30 1/2” are hand written on the knob in black marker. The Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in black marker and added “#2934”. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (I02743) for the game use, with a grade of GU 9 and a LOA from PSA/DNA (AC04473) for the signature, along with a COA from Alicia Gwynn.
