Albert Pujols exploded into the National League in the spring of 2001 as one of the most anticipated rookies in the history of the game. Using a variety of different makes and models of bats, including this one, Pujols’ .329 average and 37 home runs earned him the National League Rookie of the Year. This offered SAM JB1 model bat shows outstanding use with a secured handle crack. Numerous ball marks with stitch impressions can be seen on the barrel along with blue ink transfers and cleat imprints. A moderate coat of pine tar is on the upper handle and the bat’s length “34”, weight “31.5”, order number “7801”, model “JB-1” and Pujols’ initials “A.P.” are hand written on the barrel end in black marker. Pujols’ number “5” is hand written on both ends in black marker. This bat comes with an LOA from MEARS (314301), who have graded this bat an A7 and an LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15150) for the game use.
