The white home jersey features the classic chain stitched Cardinals birds, bat and script across the front. Pujols' number "5" is on the lower left in red and navy tackle twill. All buttons are present and appear to be original. Rawlings label is stitched inside the left front tail with size "48" and "SET 1 2001" tagging affixed. The back has "PUJOLS" across the shoulders in red and navy tackle twill on a white name plate above his number "5" in red and navy tackle twill. To top off an already significant rookie year jersey, Pujols has signed the "5" on the back in black marker. The jersey shows good game use with some turf marks and pine tar stains visible. There is some signs of wear from laundering such as some loose threads and slight puckering of the "5" on the back. The bottom edge of the jersey has been trimmed so as to be straight across, a particular characteristic found on early Pujols jerseys. The jersey was obtained from a Christian Family Day auction in 2003, having been donated to the organization by Albert Pujols and his wife Deidre.
