2001 marked the 19th and last time Cal Ripken, Jr. would represent the Baltimore Orioles and the American League as an All-Star. Played at Seattle’s Safeco Field, Ripken would steal the show as he homered off of Chan Ho Park of the Los Angeles Dodgers for his final All-Star Game home run and was voted the game’s MVP after the 4-1 victory by the American League. Offered here is the dark green mesh warmup jersey worn by Ripken prior to the 2001 All-Star Game that comes directly from his personal collection.
This Majestic size 50 button-down jersey has “AMERICAN” sewn on across the chest in white, red and navy tackle twill. The Mariners’ star-ball logo with silver streak is above the “AM”. White piping runs around the collar and down both sides of the buttons and an inch off the sleeve ends. The right sleeve has the Orioles logo patch, while the left sleeve has the 2001 ALL*STAR GAME logo patch. The Majestic tag with a size 50 flag is sewn on the left front tail and the back has “RIPKEN” and “8” sewn on in white tackle twill. The MLB logo patch is above Ripken’s name and Ripken has signed this jersey in silver marker on the front below the “AM”. This jersey comes with a signed LOA from Cal Ripken, Jr.
