Closing out his Hall of Fame career in 2001, Cal Ripken hit 14 homers, with 68 RBI and 16 doubles, in 2001. Of course, Ripken will long be remembered for his historic consecutive games played streak of 2,632 that will never be broken. The lifelong Oriole was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007 on his first ballot. Ripken wore this black mesh pullover Orioles jersey for warm up and practice during the 2001 season. This jersey was manufactured by Majestic and is a size 48. “Orioles” and a paraph are sewn on across the front in orange and black tackle twill. The Majestic tag with a size 48 flag is sewn on the front left tail. The back of the jersey has Ripken’s number “8” sewn on in orange and black tackle twill and the MLB logo patch is sewn on the upper back in Orioles’ colors. Ripken has marked this jersey in a clear plastic bag that his written “Oriole Black Jersey 2001 Warm Up Jersey Practice”. This jersey displays light use and comes with a signed LOA from Cal Ripken, Jr. stating this comes directly from his personal collection.
