Offered is a signed Rickey Henderson game-used Official Major League Allan H. Selig baseball with career hit number “2,973” inscribed on the ball. Henderson reached 2,973 hits with a home run against the Pittsburgh Pirates on August 10th, 2001, taking David Williams deep in the fifth inning to record San Diego’s final two runs of a 3-2 win. This was the 288th homer of Henderson’s career. He finished the game 2-4. Henderson has signed the sweet spot of this baseball in black pen. An inscription reading “2,973 Hits” is written on the ball in an unknown hand. The ball shows moderate use and comes with a LOA from Beckett for the signature (AA08629) and a LOA from MEARS (319736) for game use.
