Former Colorado Rockies first baseman Todd Helton wore this Rockies road uniform – jersey and pants, during the tail end of the 2001 season. The gray Russell Athletic jersey has purple pinstripes and “COLORADO” and Helton’s number “17” sewn on the front in purple, black and white tackle twill. The Russell Athletic tag with the size “48” and “ 2” EXTRA LENGTH” flags, along with a “HELTON 48-17” tag. The back of the jersey has “HELTON” and “17” sewn on in purple, black and white tackle twill. The jersey can be dated to late in the season as there is an American flag patch bordered in yellow that was applied to all jersey following the September 11th terrorists’ attacks. The left sleeve has the Rockies logo patch.
Also included in this lot are a pair of matching gray with purple pinstriped Russell Athletic game pants. The inner waist tag reads “17-HELTON 36-32-01-T”. The front of these pants has two buttons and a zipper, with matching gray belt loops. The back the Russell Athletic logo embroidered above the left pocket. These items come with a LOA from the Colorado Rockies for the game use.
