A real piece of modern Yankee history. In 2002 Alfonso Soriano had a storybook year, becoming the first Yankee ever to hit 30 home runs and steal 30 bases in a season. That same season he also led the American League in at bats (696), hits (209), extra base hits (92), stolen bases (41) and runs scored (128). This un-broken 35”, 34.7oz Original Maple Bat Co. model AS12 (SAM bat)was used by Soriano during that memorable season and carries on it all the appropriate wear you would expect it to: many ball marks with blue ink transfers and stitch impressions cleat marks and black paint streaks from the bat rack. The handle has been taped in a criss-cross pattern and a heavy coat of pine tar is visible over the manufacturer’s brand mark. The top of the barrel sports the length (35”), weight (33oz), date (05 08 02) model (AS-12) and order number (#512) hand-written in black ink. PSA/DNA LOA.
