New York Yankees pitcher David Wells wore this white pinstriped home jersey during the 2003 MLB season, his 17th in the Major Leagues. Even at the age of 40 Wells was an extremely effective pitcher. He finished the season 15-7, with a 4.14 ERA. The pitching staff of Wells, Roger Clemens, Mike Mussina, and Andy Pettitte led the Yankees to the World Series, where they fell to the Florida Marlins. Wells would pitch in the Majors until 2007, when he hung up his cleats at the age of 44.
This jersey features the Yankees iconic interlocking “NY” logo on the left breast. Wells’ number “33” is sewn on the back of the jersey in navy tackle twill. A Yankees 100th Anniversary patch is sewn on the left sleeve. A Russell Athletic tag with size “56” and “3[inch] extra length” flags is sewn on the front left tail of this button down jersey. This jersey comes with a LOA from MEARS, who have given it a perfect A10 rating.
